| In order to further the nerd interest of this forum, I have compiled a list of major technological... things that are really helpful. This is also a list of cool things that I found on the internet...
http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/ Firefox: An awesome web browser. It's fully customizable with extra Add-ons, to get the most out of your experience. Get this, especially if you still have Internet Explorer 6 or below...
www.opera.com Opera: An alternative browser (there is also Safari [Apple] and Chrome [Google]) to Internet Explorer. It's not Firefox, but it's a real step up from IE
www.tuaw.com The Unofficial Apple Weblog: An interesting site. If you've ever wanted to know what was Apple's latest announced gadget or wanted a review for an iPod app, here's your site.
or you could also go to:
www.slashdot.com Slashdot: An awesome site, dealing with all things science and math. Current Events, book reviews, and interesting minutiae you might not have known otherwise...
www.htmldog.com HTML Dog: A great site if you ever wish to learn (X)HTML and CSS, or if you just want a handy internet reference.
www.gamefaqs.com GameFAQs: Interesting site. Has a very... abnormal message board community. It's mainly for finding the answer to the puzzle that's been bothering you in a specific game. You probably knew about it already...
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation Zero Punctuation: A weekly [updates Wednesdays] review of a major video game/video game-related item. A smashing satire made by a British man living in Australia.
www.explosm.net www.vgcats.com and www.xkcd.com The links for Cyanide and Happiness [updates daily] vgcats [updates randomly] and xkcd [updates on Mon, Wed, and Fri]. Three of the best comics ever.
www.notebookreview.com An interesting site to go if you need to go do some research for your next computer purchase. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=166532 A great, informative thread on that site that shows how to clear up your computer if you have installed Vista on it.
OpenOffice.org Not a site, but a program. A free (source, cost) program that works as an alternative to Microsoft Office.
GIMP [GNU Image Manipulation Program] An alternative to Photoshop. May not be as powerful, but it is free and all of us without a few thousands buck for a license could sure use an alternative.
ActiveState Komodo: A cool text editor that lets you edit documents made in: C, PHP, Python, HTML, CSS, and more! Features color coordination, line numbering, and other great features.
Notepad++: A lighter text editor that can also edit a multitude of files. Features customizable color coordination, line numbering, and more.
http://free.avg.com/ AVG Free: A free (of charge) anti-virus software that packs a lot of power.
www.avast.com Avast! is another free (of charge) anti-virus software.
---------
For what I did not provide links to, Google is your friend.
I hope this list helps you. -*-*-*-*- <em>AzurEmerald</em>- So, are you ever going to deal with Appre and I? | |

| I have Firefox! It works better on my comp than Internet Explorer, though my paranoid parents say it's more susceptible to viruses. Of course, they're the ones who crippled the comp by putting up three different firewalls. | |

Whatever drove them to make such a harsh decision? -*--*---. <em>AzurEmerald</em>- Not to mention, such a stupid decision... Like I said, paranoia. My mom does computer programming at the Fed, so she gets hit with all the threats everyday. Hence the excessive protection. | |

| Our apologies, Nefnee. Well, I just rediscovered the Nintendo 64 at THAT AFTER SCHOOL THING OUR SCHOOL DOES. I had forgotten how much I missed it, and I was so bummed that they didn't have Starfox or Super Smash Bros. | |

I want to be soon, but I don't think that I'm.... sufficiently technologically knowledgeable yet.
