step by step
1. Click the profile button at the top of your forum bar
2. Click the avatar option that will appear in your profile options
3. Browse the gallery and choose a photo you like (please note there is more then what you first see)

I never even noticed that. I've always done my own.

I use it.. mostly cause my photos are usually too big to be used.
